Bangladeshi expatriate Mantu Chandradas won a Dh1-million prize thanks to a free Big Ticket. The Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw on August 3 announced 12 cash prize winners. Mantu, a 44-year-old father of an 8-month-old son, has resided in Dubai since 2004. His life recently took an unforeseen turn with his Big Ticket victory. He discovered Big Ticket via social media, saying, "I saw many winners on Facebook and thought I'd try my luck too," as the second prize winner.
Mantu typically buys tickets online but made his first in-store purchase at the Big Ticket shop at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. He encountered a 'Buy 2 Get 3' offer and bought five tickets, unaware that one free ticket would transform his life with a Dh1 million win. He expressed, "I am thrilled with my win."
Mantu learned of his victory from his father-in-law, a regular Big Ticket buyer. "My father-in-law saw my name on the website and sent a screenshot. I confirmed it was mine, but disbelief lingered, even for my wife," he recounted. Regarding his prize money, Mantu plans to enhance his life and assist his family, urging others to try their luck with Big Ticket, calling it a genuine and socially beneficial game.
In addition to the first and second prize winners, ten other winners from the UAE, India, the Philippines, and Iran each won Dh100,000. Big Ticket purchases in August could lead to the grand prize of Dh15 million in the live draw on September 3. Cash prize ticket buyers also enter an electronic draw the following day for a Dh50,000 prize. Moreover, ten customers will win Dh100,000 each and a Range Rover Velar worth Dh325,000 in the next live draw.
