Another game from the Xbox series is set to join the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack lineup later this month. The Nintendo 64 classic, Banjo-Tooie, will be available for premium subscribers starting October 25. This addition will bring the total number of Rare-developed games on the service to four, including GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, and Blast Corps.

Nintendo recently shared a trailer on YouTube (viewable below) announcing Banjo-Tooie's arrival on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This sequel, featuring the iconic bear-bird duo, is making its debut on the subscription service nearly three years after the original Banjo-Kazooie was released on Switch Online. Both titles are renowned Nintendo 64 platformers that were crafted by Rare, the studio behind Sea of Thieves, during a period when Nintendo held a minority stake in the company. However, in 2002, Microsoft acquired Rare.

Banjo-Tooie originally launched in 2000 and sees the return of the villainous Gruntilda. Nintendo highlights that this 3D platformer now includes a widescreen mode on the Switch. The sequel is also accessible on Xbox consoles both as a standalone title and as part of the Rare Replay collection. Regarding the future of the series, one former developer believes that there may not be much demand for another Banjo-Kazooie game.

In other news, the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack recently marked its third anniversary with a teaser hinting at new content on the horizon, although the specifics remain undisclosed. Additionally, Nintendo is preparing a mysterious Switch Online test that could provide clues about upcoming features. The Expansion Pack membership is priced at $50 annually for individual users, with a family plan costing $80 per year.
