Baseball United, the pioneering professional baseball league in the Middle East and South Asia, has unveiled its comprehensive plans for the inaugural full season, scheduled as part of a dynamic 12-month event lineup. Alongside the season, Baseball United will organize the Baseball United Cup, a professional competition, and the Baseball United Arab Classic, a national team event showcasing official baseball teams from various Middle Eastern and South Asian countries. All these events will take place in Dubai, UAE.
The first season is set to commence on October 23, 2025, and conclude on November 23, 2025. It will feature five Baseball United franchises: the Mumbai Cobras, Karachi Monarchs, Arabia Wolves, Mid East Falcons, and a yet-to-be-announced Riyadh-based team. Each franchise will compete in 12 regular season games, culminating in a best-of-three championship series between the top two teams. The league will host a total of 33 games over 32 days, marking an extraordinary burst of professional baseball activity in Dubai.
The Baseball United Cup is planned from February 22, 2025, to March 1, 2025, and will involve the first four franchises - the Cobras, Monarchs, Wolves, and Falcons - in an eight-day tournament. The competition will follow a round-robin format, leading to semifinals and finals. This event will be the first of its kind in professional franchise baseball in the Middle East and South Asia, following the BU All-Star Showcase held in Dubai last November.
Kash Shaikh, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Baseball United, expressed his gratitude and pride in announcing the dates for the BU Cup and the first season. He highlighted the team's relentless efforts over nearly three years and their vision to establish a professional baseball ecosystem in this region. Shaikh eagerly anticipates the arrival of players and franchises in Dubai for the upcoming events and looks forward to sharing the sport with fans globally.
