England cricket captain Ben Stokes has disclosed that his family home was burgled while he was on tour with the national team in Pakistan recently. The player took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the distressing news, stating: “On the evening of Thursday 17th October, a group of masked individuals broke into my home in the Castle Eden area in the North East. They made off with jewellery, other valuables, and a significant number of personal items. Many of these items hold immense sentimental value for me and my family and are irreplaceable. This is an appeal for any assistance in locating these individuals who committed this act.”

“The most distressing aspect of this crime is that it occurred while my wife and two young children were in the house,” he added. “Fortunately, none of my family members suffered any physical harm. However, the emotional and mental toll on them is undeniable. All we can contemplate is how much worse this situation could have been.”

Further details are expected to be released soon.
