Captain Ben Stokes has been included in the England squad for the second Test against Pakistan, which begins in Multan on Tuesday, following his recovery from a hamstring injury. Stokes sustained the injury two months ago and was unable to participate in the three-match home series against Sri Lanka and the first Test against Pakistan last week. Durham seamer Matt Potts also makes a return to the team after missing the Lord's Test against Sri Lanka in August. Seamers Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes have been rested.

England secured a remarkable victory in the first Test against Pakistan in Multan, winning by an innings and 47 runs on Friday. Ollie Pope led the team in Stokes's absence. The victory was powered by outstanding performances from Harry Brook, who scored 317 runs, and Joe Root, who contributed 262 runs.

Pakistan made history by becoming the first team in Test cricket's 147-year history to lose by an innings after posting a total of over 550 in the first innings. The England XI for the second Test is as follows: Ben Stokes (captain), Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, Matt Potts, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir.
