The 85.9-metre Benetti superyacht Kingdom 5KR has collided with a quay in Bizerte, Tunisia. According to BOATPro, the yacht has remained stationary since 11 October at around 12.00pm (UTC). Images reveal the extent of the damage to Kingdom 5KR's bow and the quay following the impact.
Originally named Nabila, the yacht was commissioned by Saudi billionaire and arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi. Over the decades, she has changed hands among several high-profile owners, including Donald Trump, who renamed her Trump Princess, and Saudi royal Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. The yacht also served as the base for Bond villain Maximillian Largo in Sean Connery's 'Never Say Never Again'.
Designed by Jon Bannenberg, Kingdom 5KR is distinguished by her unique air funnels and angled windows. Her original interiors, featuring a chinchilla bedspread and a crystal-covered piano, were crafted by Luigi Sturchio. The yacht also boasts a three-person hair salon and a hospital.
Authorities have cordoned off the area, and an investigation into the cause of the collision is currently in progress. BOAT International will provide updates as more information becomes available.
