From mid-October to mid-November, UAE residents can secure holiday trips at discounts of up to 45 percent compared to other dates this holiday season, according to an international travel company.

“UAE residents are exhibiting greater financial prudence this fall season, in contrast to previous periods,” stated travel brand Expedia. The company advised travellers to book their flights at least a month in advance. “Residents who searched for flights between the latter half of October and mid-November reportedly saved nearly 45 percent compared to more costly dates this season. These savings are expected to be allocated towards top destinations, with London leading the pack as searches have doubled in percentage compared to the same period last year,” Expedia noted in a statement to Khaleej Times on Tuesday.

Domestically, tourists are flocking to the northern emirates, attracted by cooler temperatures and the desire to escape the bustling atmosphere of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. “Ras Al Khaimah saw an impressive 85 percent increase in searches compared to last fall. The emirate continues to enthrall visitors with its new offerings, such as the Maldives-inspired Anantara Mina Al Arab, situated against the breathtaking backdrop of the Hajar Mountains and nestled within 1.5 kilometers of tranquil mangrove lagoons,” Expedia added.

According to Expedia, there has been a surge in searches for international hotspots like Paris (20 percent), New York (35 percent), and Singapore (60 percent), as UAE residents continue to explore these popular destinations season after season. Islands across the Mediterranean Sea, such as Ibiza, Pattaya (Thailand), and Mykonos (Greece), are expected to see a higher influx of UAE residents. Additionally, some UAE residents are considering trips to Chicago and Boston for their cooler climates.

For those looking to secure the best deals, Expedia shared the following tips: Book flights at least a month before the trip to save an average of Dh2,470 compared to booking during the last week of September. Thursday is the most economical day for hotel stays this fall. Those who booked flights on October 13, 18, or 22 saw prices cut in half compared to other dates in the same month with rates over 30 percent higher.
