South Africa's Nonkululeko Mlaba delivered a crucial bowl during the Women's T20 World Cup semi-final match against Australia in Dubai on Thursday.
Beth Mooney led the charge with a top score of 44 as Australia managed to accumulate 134-5 against South Africa in the first semi-final of the Women's T20 World Cup in Dubai on Thursday. Batting on a sluggish pitch, Australia faced early setbacks with Grace Harris and Georgia Wareham being dismissed early. However, Mooney, who reached the milestone of 3,000 runs in T20I cricket, and stand-in captain Tahlia McGrath steadied the innings, adding 50 runs from 55 balls. McGrath was eventually dismissed for 27. Following Mooney's run out, Ellyse Perry, who was caught off the last ball of the innings for 31, and Phoebe Litchfield, with a quickfire 16 from nine balls, propelled Australia to a competitive total that could challenge the side they defeated in last year's final.
Ayabonga Khaka emerged as the most effective bowler for South Africa, taking 2 wickets for 24 runs.
