The bidding process for Pakistan's national airline is set to take place on October 1, as reported by broadcaster Ary News on Tuesday. The information was disclosed by the head of the National Assembly privatisation committee. According to the report, National Assembly member Farooq Sattar informed a session of the committee that "the (Pakistan International Airlines) auction will be finalized on the first day of next month."
The Pakistani government has previously announced its intention to sell between 51% and 100% of the financially struggling airline. This move is part of the reforms recommended by the International Monetary Fund.
