A bird of prey was discovered near a citizen's farm in Fujairah, prompting the concerned individual to contact the authorities. The Fujairah Environment Authority's biodiversity team swiftly responded to the call and arrived at the location. They identified the bird as "Al-Marza Bagthaa," which had paused in the area during its seasonal migration.
To monitor its journey, the authority fitted the bird with a tracking ring on its leg. This initiative aims to document its migration path and gain insights into its behavior. The bird was then safely released back into its natural habitat.
This bird is among the hundreds of species that traverse the UAE during their migratory routes, often stopping in various environments with distinct biodiversity. The authority underscored the importance of the community's role in "safeguarding and preserving these migration corridors year-round, protecting the natural resources they encompass, and fostering community awareness to sustain the ecological activities of these remarkable creatures."
