GameScience has rolled out a significant new patch for Black Myth: Wukong, packed with two fresh challenge modes and an array of new equipment. The update also introduces several quality-of-life improvements.
The two challenge modes, accessible only after completing the game, can be found at any save point known as the Keeper's Shrine. Here, players can choose between "Return of Rivals" and "Gauntlet of Legends." The former allows players to face off against previous opponents at three different difficulty levels, while the latter pits players against a series of enemies, with customized curses adding to the challenge. Some enemies will also have new moves. Successfully completing the gauntlet rewards players with new gear, weapons, consumables, and more. However, players must first defeat any opponents in the main campaign before they can be challenged in these modes.
Addressing one of the game's criticisms, the patch introduces purchasable maps called Journeyer's Charts. These can be bought at the Keeper's Shrine whenever players enter a new territory. Additionally, a new Armor Set of Opulence has been added to celebrate the early Chinese New Year. This set, consisting of four special armor pieces, can be obtained through the "Trailblazer's Gift" at any Keeper's Shrine. Players can also enjoy the Black Myth: Wukong Soundtrack Selection, now available as a standalone application.
Black Myth: Wukong is now available on PS5 and PC, and it has been nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024.
"It's tough to confront the old rivals anew, but the Great Sage will always prevail!"
"Let the chart chart the journeyer's journey."
As the year draws to a close, we wish all Destined Ones an early Happy Chinese New Year! May you have joy and prosperity all year round.
Please note: Due to technical issues on EPIC, those who purchased the "Black Myth: Wukong Deluxe Edition Upgrade" may experience delays in receiving the soundtrack selection. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
