After surpassing 18 million sales, Black Myth: Wukong is now officially set for a physical release on PS5, with preorders available at major retailers. The physical edition listings currently display placeholder dates, but we will update this article as soon as an official release date is announced.
Developed by the Chinese game studio GameScience, Black Myth: Wukong is an action-packed RPG inspired by the renowned Chinese novel Journey to the West. Players take on the role of The Destined One, navigating a perilous world teeming with mythical creatures.
"It's not unusual to transition from one boss battle directly into another, and it's in these intense encounters that Black Myth: Wukong truly excels," Richard Wakeling noted in GameSpot's 8/10 review of the game. However, the intervals between these battles can sometimes feel aimless and tedious. Nevertheless, the game's engaging combat and diverse boss fights largely compensate for these shortcomings.
The release date for the Xbox Series X|S version of Black Myth: Wukong remains undisclosed, reportedly due to an undisclosed exclusivity agreement between Sony and GameScience.
