For months, it has been clear that Marvel Studios' Blade movie would not meet its 2025 release date. Now, it's official: Disney has removed Blade from its November 7, 2025 premiere schedule, leaving the reboot without a place on the Marvel film calendar.

According to Deadline, Disney's 20th Century Studios has a movie ready to take Blade's spot. Predator: Bad Lands will now debut on November 7, 2025, with Prey director Dan Trachtenberg returning to the franchise for its first theatrical release since 2018's The Predator. Elle Fanning will star in Bad Lands, but details about the sequel's plot remain undisclosed.

As for Blade, Mahershala Ali was announced as the lead at Comic-Con 2019. Aside from a brief vocal appearance in Eternals, Ali's Blade has not yet appeared in a full-length film. The reboot has faced multiple delays, including the departure of director Bassam Tariq and his replacement, Yann Demange, earlier this year. Marvel reportedly sought new directors for the revised script last summer, but it seems that process has not yet concluded.

In addition to Ali, the only Blade cast member currently attached to the project is X trilogy star Mia Goth, who is rumored to be playing the villain, Lilith. At this point, it's uncertain when filming for Blade will begin, but Marvel has set three new release dates for unspecified upcoming films on February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028, and November 10, 2028.
