Developer Blobfish has released new updates for Brotato, featuring local co-op and the Abyssal Terrors DLC. Both the free local co-op update and the paid DLC are currently available on Steam and Xbox, with plans to roll out to other platforms soon.

The 1.1.0.0 co-op update introduces four new characters, five new weapons, and 15 new items. Up to four players can enjoy local co-op, and the feature is compatible with Steam Remote Play Together. The game is currently on sale for just $3, while the DLC is priced at $4.

The Abyssal Terrors DLC includes a new map with 20 waves of fresh enemies, along with 14 new characters, 15 new weapons, and over 30 new items. On PC, some users are experiencing crashes and other issues, but Blobfish has offered some workarounds, such as disabling mods.

Brotato is a top-down arena shooter roguelite game where players can wield up to six weapons simultaneously to battle aliens. The gameplay is reminiscent of Vampire Survivors, with players needing to survive waves lasting from 2 to 90 seconds before assistance arrives. Players can also tailor their runs to create unique challenges, such as using only one hand, and select from a variety of weapons including flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and sticks and stones.
