Bloodborne enthusiasts are unequivocal in their desire for more of the game. With nearly a decade having elapsed since its release, and Sony yet to produce a sequel, some indie developers have stepped in to create their own Bloodborne experiences. The latest of these unofficial projects is Bloodborne: Top Down Arena, which reimagines the title as a Diablo-style action-RPG. Although the game is still in development, its creator, Maxime Foulquier, has shared a video showcasing the gameplay.
Foulquier initially aimed to remake Bloodborne entirely but abandoned that plan out of concern for potential legal action from Sony. The video features the Hunter battling various foes, suggesting that Bloodborne could thrive in this new format. Foulquier believes that Bloodborne: Top Down Arena is distinct enough from the original to avoid Sony's legal scrutiny, which is why he doesn't intend to release it on Steam. He also noted that another fan project, Bloodborne Kart, faced significant delays and reworks to sidestep legal issues with Sony. However, retaining the Bloodborne name in his game could still attract Sony's legal team.
In the absence of official Bloodborne content from Sony, fan-made projects remain the only source of new material. One particularly fascinating fan project is Graceborne, an Elden Ring mod that integrates elements from From Software's previous title into its current franchise. Graceborne is currently in its alpha phase.
