The Bloomington Academy in Ajman left an indelible mark at the prestigious Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards held in Dubai. The event kicked off with a congratulatory video from Rod Smith, the Group Managing Director, setting the tone for an evening filled with elegance and precision. The formal proceedings began with a warm welcome address by Sarah Saiger, the UAE Country Manager, who graciously opened the ceremony. Adding further prestige to the occasion was Elizabeth Carter, Director of Global Marketing, who graced the event as the distinguished Guest of Honour.

A musical performance by students from Merryland International School served as a prelude, setting the stage for the celebration of academic excellence. The evening was dedicated to honoring the outstanding achievements of students from across the region who had excelled in the Cambridge International examinations. Among the spotlighted students were Muhammed Nosherwan Khan Fawad Khan Pasha and Ajmain Faieq Sabur Abdus Sabur Miah, both of whom stood out for their exceptional performance.

Nosherwan, who secured the World Topper (Joint 1st Place) in Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement) in June 2024, received resounding cheers and applause. His stellar performance also made him the current school topper in his IGCSE exams, earning him the prestigious 100% Madam Sosamma Lazar Award scholarship on tuition fees. This award is a testament to North Point Education’s and the school’s unwavering support for exceptional talent.

On his achievement, Nosherwan remarked, “I always aimed for excellent grades, but becoming a World Topper was a pleasant surprise. This experience has motivated me to set even higher goals. My next aspiration is to become a world-class programmer, contributing to the future of technology.”

Ajmain, too, was awarded the esteemed Madam Sosamma Lazar Award from North Point Education, which comes with a 100% scholarship for both IGCSE and AS levels. This recognition is a reward for Ajmain’s dedication and hard work.

Reflecting on his achievement, Ajmain shared, “I had just returned home from school, tired and exhausted. When I rang the doorbell, I heard a commotion inside. My parents greeted me with beaming faces, hugging me and sharing the news that I ranked 2nd in the UAE for my AS results. It was a shock, but a pleasant one that I will always cherish.” He added, “My success is a result of my hard work and the unwavering support from my parents, teachers, and friends. Their encouragement was instrumental in making this achievement possible.”
