Bluestocking, a four-year-old filly, secured a supplementary entry for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe earlier this week at a cost of €120k (£100k). She clinched Europe's most prestigious race under a masterful ride by Rossa Ryan on Sunday.

Ryan maintained a strategic position aboard Bluestocking, conserving energy a few lengths behind the pace as Los Angeles, the Irish Derby champion, led the pack through the initial mile. With about a quarter of a mile remaining, Ryan propelled Bluestocking into the lead and sustained a powerful gallop to the finish line.

Aventure, who finished second to Bluestocking in last month's Prix Vermeille, managed to secure second place, while Los Angeles held on to take third. This victory marked a historic first for both Ryan and Bluestocking's trainer, Ralph Beckett, who had previously guided Westover to a second-place finish behind Ace Impact a year ago.
