Before Nobody, few would have considered Bob Odenkirk as a rising action star. However, the film—where Odenkirk's seemingly ordinary suburban dad, Hutch, reconnected with the assassin within—demonstrated that the man once known as Saul Goodman is indeed a force to be reckoned with in the action genre. Now, he's set to return in Nobody 2, with The Night Comes For Us director Timo Tjahjanto at the helm. Brace yourself—things are about to get chaotic.
In Nobody, Hutch gradually revealed more layers of his ultra-violent past throughout the film. In Nobody 2, there's no going back. “Now that he's fully immersed in this world again, how does his family respond to this beast within?” Tjahjanto hints at the challenges Hutch faces this time. “You'll witness the questions that fathers and husbands often grapple with—‘How do they react to this other side of me who's constantly striving and working for the family?’ It's going to be quite an adventure.” This sequel promises to be more expansive and vibrant than its predecessor. “We're moving away from the drab, gloomy factory/warehouse aesthetic of the first film,” Tjahjanto explains, “and embracing a much more summery and colorful vibe.”
Additionally, if Nobody showcased Odenkirk in a new light, expect Nobody 2 to do the same for Sharon Stone, who steps into the villainous role. “Her performance reminds me of Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast,” Tjahjanto remarks. “She is undoubtedly an alpha female. She doesn't tolerate nonsense from anyone. This villain is unique, and she's bringing a completely insane edge to the character.” Ready for Nobody reloaded?
