It's not a good day for Bow Wow. The 37-year-old rapper, known for hits like 'Bounce With Me,' is facing criticism for expressing his disappointment on a podcast about Sean 'Diddy' Combs' absence from hosting parties following his arrest on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
During the October 10 episode of the 'More To The Story with Rocsi Diaz' podcast, Bow Wow expressed disbelief over Combs' legal troubles, saying, 'It seems unreal at times.' He shared a conversation he had with Jermaine Dupri, where he admitted, 'I never thought we would see him in this position. Ever.' Bow Wow referred to Combs as 'the gatekeeper to the game.'
Bow Wow (real name Shad Moss) also pointed out that Combs, 54, did not organize afterparties for the BET Awards in June and the BET Hip Hop Awards on October 8. 'The past two, they just didn't feel right because there was no motion, no parties, nowhere to go,' he explained.
Host Rocsi Diaz clarified that Bow Wow was discussing Combs' famous music industry parties, not the 'Freak Offs' mentioned in the indictment against Combs. Bow Wow emphasized Combs' role in the culture, saying, 'How monumental and how important he was to the culture. I said, 'Jermaine, there's no parties.' Every year he [had the parties]. And you feel it. It's like a hole. It's like, damn.'
Bow Wow's comments sparked significant backlash online. 'I bet a lot of celebs just wanna continue partying with Diddy and don't gaf about victims. Bow Wow just the one celeb tone deaf enough to say it out loud,' one person commented on X (formerly Twitter). Another user tweeted, 'Diddy party withdrawals is crazy work lol.'
The Post has reached out to Bow Wow's representative for comment. Combs was arrested on September 16 in New York and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. An unsealed indictment alleges that Combs hosted 'freak off' parties where women were lured and coerced into sexual performances with male sex workers, which were allegedly recorded for blackmail purposes.
Combs, known for his lavish public gatherings, including the star-studded Hamptons White Party, is currently in a federal detention facility in Brooklyn awaiting trial. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
