Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia is opening up about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Zach Bryan for the first time since their split last month. The Barstool Sports figure alleged that the 28-year-old erupted in anger when she sang a song by another country star — Morgan Wallen. “One morning, I was scrolling through TikTok, and ‘Last night we let the liquor talk’ was stuck in my head,” LaPaglia recounted on Thursday’s episode of her “BFFs” podcast, quoting Wallen’s hit “Last Night.”
“I went upstairs in our New York apartment, singing — I was about to make breakfast — ‘Last night we let the liquor talk.’ He completely lost it. He was furious. He couldn’t believe it,” the podcast host continued. LaPaglia claimed that Bryan, known for his song “Something in the Orange,” shouted at her, “You’re singing another man’s song in my house, a house that I own.”
According to LaPaglia, this incident led to a week-long argument. She also mentioned that she was “not really allowed to listen to Noah Kahan” while with Bryan, who apparently felt she liked the “Stick Season” singer too much. LaPaglia told cohosts Dave Portnoy and Josh Richard that “the past year has been the toughest of my life dealing with the abuse from this guy.”
“I’m still scared because I fear him,” LaPaglia admitted. “My mind is rewired, and I’m scared to upset him. Last week, I didn’t want to talk about it because I was scared.” She further detailed the alleged abuse, describing a cycle of “building you up, tearing you down, apologizing repeatedly.” “There was always an excuse for why he treated me so badly and why I cried myself to sleep every night,” LaPaglia said. “Why he screamed at me, and then the next morning, it was the apology, ‘I’m going to be better because I need you in my life.’ But if you’ve been through this, you know what I’m talking about.”
LaPaglia also claimed that Bryan made past partners sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to prevent them from discussing their experiences. She alleged that Bryan’s team offered her $12 million and a New York apartment to “keep quiet about the relationship.” “I’m not like the others, and I was someone before you,” LaPaglia revealed. “You made the women before me believe they had no choice but to take your money and sign away their experiences. You get to go on stage and sing your songs, acting like a good guy, while treating people around you poorly. I’m not them. I don’t want your money; I don’t want to buy a house in two years and think, ‘Oh, this is the money from the guy who destroyed me and broke me for a year.’”
The Post has contacted Bryan’s representative for comment. LaPaglia and Bryan began dating two months after meeting at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2023. Bryan confirmed their breakup on Instagram on October 22 and requested privacy for both of them. LaPaglia said she felt “blindsided” by his public announcement and plans to “take a break from social media to heal privately. When I’m ready, I’ll be back and ready to talk.”
