British Airways is canceling hundreds of long-haul flights this winter due to aircraft shortages linked to delays in delivery of engines and parts from Rolls-Royce, according to a report by the Financial Times on Friday.

The airline attributed the cancellations to issues with the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines fitted to its 787 aircraft, the report stated. Neither British Airways nor Rolls-Royce immediately responded to requests for comment from Reuters.

The company has postponed the launch of a new route from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur and is suspending one flight daily between London Gatwick and New York, as well as between London Heathrow and Doha, the report added.
