A British educator has been sentenced to three years in prison and fined Dh5,000 by the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal after being found guilty of soliciting bribes from students at his school.

In addition to his prison term, the teacher will be deported from the UAE upon completion of his sentence. The educator was accused of accepting bribes in exchange for manipulating exam results and unfairly boosting students' grades, actions that compromise the integrity of the UAE's educational system.

The case came to light following an investigation initiated by the Public Prosecution, which uncovered evidence of the teacher's misconduct. Further details are expected to emerge.
