Two Bugatti Chiron owners found themselves in a precarious situation this week after a high-speed collision in Morocco, which also involved a truck. A video posted on YouTube captures the incident, showing three Bugatti Chiron hypercars overtaking slower vehicles on a two-lane road. As they approach a truck, the three cars slow down to wait for oncoming traffic to clear. Once the path is clear, the second Chiron, believed to be a Super Sport, attempts to overtake both the leading Bugatti and the truck. However, the leading Chiron also tries to pass, unaware of the other Chiron beside it. The two Bugattis collide, with the second Chiron spinning around the first and crashing into the back of the truck, then veering off the road. The truck, in turn, leaves the road and topples down an embankment, while the leading Bugatti manages to come to a controlled stop.
The Moroccan news site Tanjaoui.ma, which reported no injuries from the crash, shared images of the aftermath. These photos depict the overturned truck and the second Chiron with significant front-end damage. The bumper is severely damaged, and the front hood is bent and cracked, likely resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in repairs. There were no images of the other Chiron, but it is expected to have sustained damage as well. Given the millions of dollars each car costs, the repair bills will undoubtedly be substantial.
