Cafu, the world's premier vehicle energy delivery and service platform, has unveiled plans to expand its services by introducing a new electric vehicle (EV) charging solution. This initiative aligns with the UAE's commitment to green mobility. As the region's pioneering on-demand car and vehicle service SuperApp, Cafu will soon allow electric vehicle drivers to request EV charging services at their preferred locations. Customers will have the choice between two options: a premium mobile on-demand EV charging service, similar to Cafu's existing model, or a mobile pop-up self-service, which will be a trailer-based charging option. Both services will offer fast-charging capabilities and will be compatible with any make and model of electric vehicle.

Alaa El Huni, Chief Business Officer at Cafu, expressed enthusiasm, stating: "This is an exciting phase for Cafu as we prepare to launch our new EV charging solution in the Middle East, following its initial introduction in Canada in 2023. As a home-grown brand, we take immense pride in offering this service to our customers, allowing them to experience the convenience and efficiency we already provide with our fuel delivery service. Our goal is to support the UAE's transition to sustainable transport by enhancing recharging options, thereby encouraging more drivers to switch to EVs and reduce carbon emissions."

The new EV charging service will utilize the same top-tier AI-driven technology currently employed in Cafu's fuel delivery service and will be accessible through Cafu's IoT-enabled platform. This service will not only be available to individual consumers via the Cafu app but also to fleets looking to transition to EV use but facing high costs and long lead times for installing charging stations at their depots. The inclusion of semi-mobile locations in Cafu's network enables direct current fast chargers (DCFCs) to scale more rapidly by reducing reliance on grid power and cutting costs and lead times.

A significant aspect of the EV charging solution launch is a new partnership with Audi, making Cafu the official UAE charging partner for the brand starting in 2025. René Koneberg, Managing Director of Audi Middle East, commented: "Our collaboration with Cafu marks a significant step in Audi's journey to redefine the electric vehicle experience. By offering innovative solutions like mobile EV charging directly to our customers, we address one of the major concerns in electric mobility—charging accessibility. This partnership ensures that Audi drivers can enjoy the convenience and freedom of charging wherever they are, further facilitating the smooth transition to electric driving."

The adoption of EVs is increasing, with the recent implementation of a unified fee structure for charging EVs indicating a growing demand for such vehicles. Government support is expected to further boost sales. Consultants PwC predict that the EV adoption rate will double from 3% to 6% by 2025, with a 22% uptake by 2035. Tech-enabled solutions like Cafu's EV charging service ensure that the demand for charging stations, particularly DCFCs, is met, even during peak times. By delivering on its promise of convenience, Cafu aims to reduce congestion and save drivers valuable time.

Alaa El Huni concluded: "As an innovative startup bridging the realms of mobility and technology to offer a distinctive value proposition, we are honored to support electrification, enable the decarbonization of transport, and contribute to achieving sustainable transport goals in the UAE. By leveraging technology and innovation, we are dedicated to providing vehicle solutions that simplify people's lives while positively impacting sustainability and fostering a better future for all."
