Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 didn't make fans wait long for the first two zombie maps, which launched alongside the game at the end of October. The next destination on the roadmap is Citadelle des Morts, a grand French castle located in Avalon. The storyline picks up with the Requiem crew following their escape from Terminus. In the first cinematic trailer for the new map, the team encounters an old acquaintance, Sergei Ravenov.
The majority of the trailer is seen through Sergei's eyes, and he is visibly shocked to see his former allies still alive. However, this reunion is not a casual visit, as the team is on a mission to find a man named Craft who "may be able to bring back Maxis." It is likely they are referring to Samantha Maxis, a character who transitioned from adversary to ally before her tragic death when she sealed the Dark Aether portal.
Sergei appears to be curious about Maya Aguinaldo, the team's latest recruit. However, he is less than pleased to discover that they are collaborating with William Peck. Although their current objectives align, Peck is almost certain to betray them eventually, even though he orchestrated their escape from Terminus.
The Citadelle des Morts map is set to launch on December 5, with the main story quest going live at the same time. Treyarch has previously revealed details about the new perks and classic zombie features that will be part of this map. The Zombies campaign is just one aspect of the extensive Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 roadmap, as Activision and Treyarch aim to keep players engaged for the foreseeable future.
