In the week following its release, it has come to light that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offers an optional $20 personalized spatial audio feature. This third-party audio tool is integrated into Black Ops 6's settings menu and will also be available in Warzone with the launch of Season 1. A screenshot of the audio menu, shared by COD content creator Omeqa on X (formerly Twitter), reveals a pop-up offering a free trial for Embody's Immerse spatial audio. This service generates a personalized spatial audio profile tailored to the player's head and ear shape, with a $20 fee covering five years of use.

The paid service is included under the Enhanced Headphone Mode setting, which prominently displays a follow-up screenshot in the game's audio options. By default, this setting uses a universal profile, but players have the option to upgrade to a personalized one. Black Ops 6 is not the only game to collaborate with Embody for personalized spatial audio; Final Fantasy XIV has offered this feature for several years, and Cyberpunk 2077 introduced it earlier this year. Although Embody is not the sole provider of personalized spatial audio for games, it is uncommon to find such options directly integrated into a game's menus.

Unlike other third-party services, Embody's spatial audio is developed in conjunction with each game's developers, but this also means players must purchase a separate "Immerse Gamepack" for each game they wish to use it with. While Embody's Gamepacks are reasonably priced for a five-year subscription, the value of these packs remains a topic of debate. Many Final Fantasy XIV players have expressed dissatisfaction with the audio offering on Reddit, with some arguing that Embody's service is not significantly different from Dolby Atmos.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch on October 25, with preloading currently available. For those interested in exploring Embody's personalized audio options, the service is compatible with the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 versions of the game.
