Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch this Friday, and Activision has revealed comprehensive details about the player progression system. This includes a detailed look at the return of the classic prestige system and the various prestige rewards players can earn. Here's a comprehensive guide to leveling up in Black Ops 6.

Players will earn XP by participating in multiplayer and Zombies mode at launch, with Warzone matches contributing to progression after its integration in Season 1. The progression system comprises 55 player levels, which unlock weapons, equipment, scorestreaks, perks, additional operators, and more. Players can track their progress through the Barracks tab in the Black Ops 6 lobby.

It's important to note that all GobbleGums are available from the start in Zombies mode. The GobbleGums listed in the level unlocks (1-55) are additional, one-time use items. The classic prestige system is making a comeback, allowing players to choose when to prestige rather than automatically doing so at level 55 as in recent years. Prestiging in Black Ops 6 resets a player's level to 1, requiring them to re-unlock content from levels 1-55. However, certain items will not be reset.

Prestiging offers rewards, including unique items at each prestige level. There are 10 levels of prestige, culminating in Master Prestige, where players can reach levels up to 1,000 and earn additional rewards. Black Ops 6 also introduces traditional calling card and camo challenges, with reticle challenges returning for further customization. Camo challenges have been adjusted, with each weapon having nine Military camos and two unique Special Camo Swatches. Special camos can be unlocked in any order once accessible and are universal, usable on any weapon that has completed Military Camos.

Mastery camos are available in Multiplayer, Zombies, and for the first time, Warzone. There are 10 reticles to unlock in each mode, with progress tied to optics rather than specific weapons. Calling cards and challenges are grouped into categories, with additional sets available upon prestiging. Mastery badges add another layer to the progression, rewarding in-game feats with medals and XP bonuses. With over 200 medals to earn, players can view their achievements in the After Action Report and Medal Collection tab.
