Today is a significant day for Call of Duty fans, as November 14 heralds the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1, which also introduces a brand-new Call of Duty: Warzone map, Area 99.

Season 1 is a substantial update, weighing in at 74GB on Xbox and 50GB on PlayStation, as reported by CharlieIntel. Players can pre-load the update now to ensure they are ready to dive in as soon as Season 1 goes live today at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. Call of Duty updates are notorious for their large file sizes, and the Season 1 launch is no exception. To address the growing file sizes, Activision has implemented measures to reduce them, including streaming certain assets and other methods. Despite these efforts, given the size of the Black Ops 6 Season 1 update, players may need to clear some space by deleting old files.

Black Ops 6 Season 1 brings new multiplayer maps, modes, and weapons, while the in-game store is expanded with a variety of bundles, including a unique one that transforms players into a shark. The store also features the first Black Ops 6 BlackCell bundle, which includes the Goliath operator.

For Warzone, the new Area 99 map transports players to the birthplace of Nuketown. The Season 1 update also introduces Black Ops 6 content into Warzone, including the Omnimovement system.
