The Season 1 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone went live yesterday, introducing a plethora of new content and a battle pass brimming with cosmetic skins. The most striking initial change is the streamlined page layout, but the battle pass also features a significant downgrade compared to recent years.
Call of Duty's battle pass continues to place DLC weapons in the free tiers, but those seeking additional cosmetics can opt for the 1,100 CoD Points ($10) standard battle pass or the $30 BlackCell bundle. The battle pass tiers are filled with a variety of cosmetic items, XP tokens, and CoD Points to recoup.
Historically, the standard pass has been considered a good value, as investing 1,100 CoD Points would typically yield 1,400 CoD Points upon completing all tiers. This surplus of 300 CoD Points (over $2) could be saved or used towards a shop bundle. However, Black Ops 6's battle pass now only offers 1,100 CoD Points in return. While this still covers the initial investment, the reduced reward might discourage some players.
Highlights of the Season 1 battle pass include the campaign's Sevati "Sev" Dumas as a playable operator, several weapon blueprints, and Gobblegums for Zombies. Additionally, any leftover double XP tokens from last year's Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone have been transferred to Black Ops 6, expediting Prestiging and leveling up new weapons.
