Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 revives Treyarch's classic, round-based Zombies mode. Players have two maps to explore: Liberty Falls, a more casual experience, and Terminus, which offers a larger and more intense challenge. Regardless of your choice, being well-prepared is crucial. Here, we detail everything you need to know about crafting a custom loadout for Zombies.

Custom loadouts are back, similar to Black Ops Cold War. You'll start each match with a weapon and equipment of your choice, but the customization process differs from recent iterations. You'll have one primary weapon slot, which can be equipped with up to five attachments, provided you've leveled up the gun enough to unlock them. Your loadout also includes a dedicated melee slot, offering a choice between a knife and a baseball bat at launch.

Additionally, you can select one piece of tactical equipment, lethal equipment, a Zombies field upgrade, and a pack of Gobblegums. The weapons you bring into the game won't be very powerful in the early rounds, and it takes significant points and salvage to upgrade their rarity and Pack-a-Punch. These are mostly starter weapons, so the specific builds don't need to be overly precise. It's more beneficial to invest in higher-rarity Wall Buys, Mystery Box guns, or powerful Wonder Weapons like the Ray Gun.

Originally introduced in Black Ops Cold War, Augments enhance your field upgrades, perks, and ammo mods. Zombies matches become increasingly difficult after round 25, with more intense waves and numerous armored zombies. Augments provide crucial benefits such as extra health, increased movement speed, and immunity from fall damage. You'll need to unlock Augments by completing Augment Research, accessible only after reaching level 11. Start researching Augments as soon as you can, as there are 108 total Augments, with multiple major and minor options for each perk, ammo mod, and field upgrade. Researching Augments is a slow process, so prioritize powerful ones like Juggernog Augments, which require eight prior Augment researches.

At launch, Black Ops 6 offers several field upgrades. Depending on your playstyle and team setup, options like Healing Aura for a medic role or Frenzied Guard for an aggressive player are solid choices. Aether Shroud is useful for both team and solo play, while Dark Flare is fun but less team-oriented. Energy Mine is the least helpful and enjoyable, making it a low-priority pick.

Gobblegums return, offering powerful but temporary effects. While optional, they can significantly enhance your gameplay. Customize a pack of five gums of various rarities, and earn more unique gums by playing and completing rounds. Save powerful gums for later matches, such as high-round attempts or Easter egg quests.
