A shipment of medications intended for cancer patients triggered an alarm indicating the presence of radioactive material in the cargo section of Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has confirmed the shipment's safety, according to a senior official at the airport, who spoke on Saturday.
The Adani Group, which operates the airport, issued a statement assuring that operations are proceeding without disruption. The statement, signed by the Chief Operating Officer, clarified that the NDRF was summoned to investigate the alarm and has deemed the shipment safe.
The statement also emphasized that there were no casualties, contrary to media rumors, and no danger to life or injuries. Airport operations continue to function smoothly without any impact.
