Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has confirmed the sale of another Flexplorer 165 model. This latest sale brings the total number of Flexplorer 165 units on order, under construction, or already in operation to nine, as reported by BOATPro.Measuring 50.3 metres, the Flexplorer 165 is the largest explorer yacht produced by the shipyard to date, with the first hull, Maverick, having been delivered earlier this year. This new unit was commissioned by a North American owner and was sold in partnership with Chris Holtzheuser of Allied Marine.
The buyer, an enthusiastic fisherman, has specified that the yacht be equipped with three tenders, one of which is a Freedom Dual Console tender from Grady-White. Consequently, the model's A-frame crane capacity has been enhanced to 4.5 tons. The yacht also features a flexible layout designed to accommodate a large family. The sky lounge can be transformed into an additional cabin, and a space on the lower deck can be configured either as a private lounge or an extra guest cabin. The interior design is credited to Giorgio M. Cassetta, although full details remain undisclosed.
Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of CdM, expressed the shipyard's pride in this latest contract, which is the first in a series of three that will be completed in the coming weeks. He noted that the success of the Flexplorer series underscores CdM’s dedication to innovation, craftsmanship, and understanding the specific needs of its high-end clientele. Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, the yacht is anticipated to achieve a top speed of 15 knots and a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Other notable specifications include a volume of 500GT, a beam of nine metres, and a draft of 2.3 metres.
