Todd Cantwell's first-half penalty secured a 1-0 victory for Blackburn over Leeds at Ewood Park, thwarting Daniel Farke's side's bid to reclaim the top spot in the Championship. Sheffield United's win against Sunderland the previous day had pushed Leeds into second place, but they failed to overtake the Blades as Cantwell's 22nd-minute spot-kick ensured Rovers' third consecutive win and bolstered their playoff prospects.

Leeds pressed hard for an equalizer, but when Largie Ramazani's 82nd-minute goal was disallowed for offside, their hopes were dashed. Had Cantwell capitalized on two good second-half chances, Blackburn's margin of victory could have been even greater.

Meanwhile, Hull's dismal run continued with a 3-1 loss at Middlesbrough, marking their fifth consecutive league defeat. Interim manager Andy Dawson, following Tim Walter's midweek dismissal, couldn't halt the slide, leaving City winless in their last 10 league games. Finn Azaz's fifth goal in three games set Boro on their way, before Tommy Conway doubled the lead just before halftime. Hull's Mason Burstow halved the deficit 19 minutes from time, but Conway's second goal sealed the points for Boro, who have now won four of their last five games and lead the division in scoring.

In another match, Tyler Goodrham's brilliant 85th-minute equalizer earned Oxford United a 1-1 draw with playoff contenders Millwall at the Kassam Stadium, ending their three-game losing streak. Millwall had led through Japhet Tanganga's 45th-minute header, but Goodrham's stunning left-footed drive secured a vital point for struggling Oxford. The draw extended Millwall's unbeaten run in the Championship to nine games, but they will rue the missed opportunity.

Watford matched a club record unbeaten run at Vicarage Road but were frustrated by a 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened QPR. The hosts extended their home unbeaten streak to 15 games, equaling the record set by Graham Taylor's side in 1997, but missed a chance to close in on the Championship's automatic promotion places.
