Careem, a bike-sharing company, has joined forces with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to offer complimentary bike rentals to residents and tourists participating in Dubai Ride on Sunday, November 10.
According to Careem, event participants can avail themselves of free bike rentals from two of Careem Bike’s pop-up stations: Entrance A at the Museum of the Future (MOTF), located on Trade Center Street, and Entrance E at Lower FCS on Financial Centre Road. The free rental is available by using the code DR24 on the one-day pass. Bikes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dubai Ride, the largest community cycling event in the region, is back for its fifth edition and is open to all, regardless of age or cycling ability. The event routes will be accessible to the public starting at 5am, with cyclists embarking on their journey at 6.15am and concluding by 8am.
This marks the third consecutive year that Careem has partnered with RTA for the cycling event. “This initiative by the RTA aims to transform Dubai into a bicycle-friendly city and promote sustainable transportation alternatives within the community. Our collaboration with Careem Bike is pivotal in achieving key objectives such as sustainability, health, safety, and customer satisfaction,” stated Abdulrahman Mohammad Aljanahi, Director of Roads Right of Way, Traffic and Roads Agency, and Head of the Sports Team at RTA.
“We are excited to once again support RTA’s mission to elevate the Dubai Ride experience for both residents and tourists. By offering free bike rentals, we are making it simpler than ever for everyone to join this event, regardless of whether they own a bike or not,” commented Sami Amin, Senior Director of Operations at Careem.
