CD Projekt Red has formally declared that its playtest initiative will be expanding to the United States. This development implies that residents of the country may soon receive invitations to test the latest Witcher and Cyberpunk games, which are currently in the production phase.
However, there are certain conditions attached. CDPR has clarified that it will be highly selective in choosing participants. "If your gaming profile matches our criteria, we will contact you via email or phone to discuss your availability for upcoming playtests. All sessions will be scheduled at least a few days in advance," CDPR stated on its playtest FAQ page.
Additional requirements include being at least 16 years old and not being professionally involved in the game development industry. Potential participants must either reside in Boston or be prepared to travel there for on-site activities. Those who meet these criteria can log into their CDPR account and register through the provided form.
While there is no assurance regarding which CDPR games will be available for playtesting, the CDPR Boston studio boasts several veterans from Cyberpunk 2077, such as quest director Pawel Sasko, who are now working on a sequel to the 2020 game. The rocky launch of Cyberpunk 2077 prompted a significant overhaul at CDPR, which is now developing multiple games. The Witcher 4, for instance, has over 400 people working on it, a remake of the original Witcher is in progress, and a new IP called Project Hadar is also under development.
