In celebration of the 126th Philippine Independence Day, we honor the resilient spirit of Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan. Our compatriots, numbering in the millions, in the UAE, stand united with Filipinos worldwide in commemorating the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence, themed 'Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan' ('Freedom, Future, History'). This year is particularly significant as it also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the UAE. The deep-rooted connections between Filipinos and Emiratis have always been the foundation of the strong and growing partnership between our countries. It is with immense pride that we witness the flourishing of this fraternal bond between our nations, reaching new heights since the inception of our diplomatic ties. The UAE's leadership has consistently demonstrated its appreciation for the Philippines and the contributions of Filipinos, from the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to the present rulers. Recently, the Philippines was included in Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's tour of Asian countries, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister for Tolerance, attended an Independence Day event in Dubai hosted by our community. Thus, this dual celebration deeply resonates with all our compatriots. In the UAE, every Filipino continues to cherish and uphold the legacy of freedom and independence, a heritage forged by our heroes. As our community flourishes in this welcoming and tolerant land, often considered our second home, let us embrace the future with hope, guided by the lessons of history, and fulfill our duties to our motherland. Long live the Philippines and the UAE!
