Five years have passed since the release of Mission Mangal, starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon, and Sharman Joshi. Taapsee Pannu recently shared the film's poster on her Instagram story, which was originally posted by Hope Productions. In her post, she commemorated the fifth anniversary of Mission Mangal and also mentioned her upcoming film Khel Khel Mein, which also features Akshay Kumar and a talented ensemble cast.

Akshay Kumar echoed Taapsee's sentiments by re-sharing her post on the same day. Directed by Jagan Shakti, Mission Mangal also includes performances by Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, HG Dattatreya, and Sharman Joshi. The film follows the journey of Rakesh Dhawan (played by Akshay) and Tara Shinde (played by Vidya) as they lead a group of scientists in achieving one of the most significant missions in history: the launch of India's first satellite to Mars. Based on real events, the movie showcases the triumph of ordinary individuals accomplishing extraordinary feats.

Co-produced by R Balki, the director of PadMan, Mission Mangal was released on August 15, alongside John Abraham's Batla House and Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Regarding Akshay and Taapsee's latest project, Khel Khel Mein is directed by Mudassar Aziz and features an ensemble cast including Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and Fardeen Khan.
