In a majestic hall embellished with flowing purple drapes, the atmosphere at one of Dubai's worship houses was filled with reverence and joy on Wednesday morning. The event, hosted at the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church theatre in Jebel Ali, celebrated the steadfast support from UAE government officials to religious institutions throughout the year. As the sun cast a gentle light through the stained-glass windows, the interior was filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers, enhancing the tranquil and holy ambiance. The hall was packed with an assortment of dignitaries, community leaders, and members of the media.

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE's Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, underscored the significance of unity in promoting tolerance, coexistence, brotherhood, and sustainability. He stated, “Together, we resolve to bridge religious and cultural gaps, fostering positive relationships among us. We must challenge stereotypes and cultivate thoughtful perspectives.” Sheikh Nahyan also emphasized the role of engagement in shaping the future and addressing global issues. “As one human family, we must collaborate to ensure respect, compassion, and understanding for all. We must advocate for human rights, dignity, and a high quality of life for everyone. I appreciate your efforts to improve the world for all,” he added.

Father Mina Hanna, Pastor of the Coptic Church in Dubai, expressed gratitude for the support from various government entities at the Jebel Ali worship site, enabling them to serve their communities effectively. He noted, “This gathering exemplifies the UAE government and leadership’s ongoing commitment to peace and coexistence, respecting all nationalities, beliefs, and backgrounds.” Muhammad Abdullah Muhammad bin Majid Al Marri, Deputy Director of Jabel Ali Police Station, highlighted the importance of clear communication in enhancing relations, stating, “Regular meetings with worship house leaders help us address their concerns and improve processes. Effective communication is crucial for strengthening inter-faith relations and government support.”

Leaders from other worship houses in the UAE also echoed the importance of unity and collaboration among diverse faiths and government entities. Bishop Paolo Martinelli, Head of the Catholic Church in the UAE, emphasized the theme of the event, ‘Together, for a Sustainable Future,’ calling for mutual respect and cooperation. Rajkumar Shroff, Trustee of the Hindu Temple Dubai, described the event as a thanksgiving gathering for government officials who assist in coordinating and supporting religious events. Bubbles Kandhari, Vice-Chairperson of Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara, Dubai, noted the universal message of harmony and inclusivity promoted by such gatherings.

Senior officials from various government bodies, including representatives from the Community Development Authority, Dubai Police, Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs, and other departments, attended the event. Diplomatic corps members from various countries were also present.
