Unable to make it to the US or the West Indies for the World Cup this year? Don't fret, as there's a possibility you could catch the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai instead!
The Indian Cricket Team is scheduled to compete against New Zealand, Bangladesh, and their historic rival Pakistan in the group stage. Notably, the Men in Blue haven't played a match in Pakistan since 2006 due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries. Since then, they've faced Pakistan on neutral grounds, often in the UAE.
Dubai residents might therefore have the opportunity to witness these top teams clash live. The Emirates Cricket Board has yet to comment on this matter. However, they will have ample time to prepare the pitches after the UAE's ILT20 concludes on February 9, 2024, as this prestigious tournament is slated to start on February 19, 2025.
Previously, a source from the BCCI informed ANI that the Indian team will not be traveling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and will request the International Cricket Council to host their matches elsewhere. Should the ICC comply, India could potentially play their group stage matches in this bustling metropolis.
