Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz were set to exchange vows next year, but their relationship abruptly ended last week. The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in 2021, called off their engagement over the weekend. Just months ago, Zoë's father, Lenny Kravitz, was sharing details about their planned 2025 wedding. Here’s what we know about the wedding plans and the split:

The 60-year-old “American Woman” rocker was close with his daughter’s fiancé and often spoke highly of their bond. However, he made a significant misstep by revealing their wedding plans. “He’s a really great guy,” Lenny told the British radio show “Zoe Ball and Friends” in May. “He was raised well. So, he’s got manners. He’s charming. He’s a soulful human being. And so, he’s become part of the family quite quickly.

During the interview, Lenny also disclosed when Zoë and Channing planned to tie the knot. He continued to express his affection for Channing, saying, “He fits and they’re in love. We’re going to have a wedding next year.” Despite his enthusiasm, Lenny mentioned he wouldn’t be performing or DJing at the reception, opting instead to “just be hanging out.”

After Lenny’s revelation, Zoë attempted to downplay the 2025 date. In an interview with Esquire in August, she rolled her eyes “in mock annoyance” when asked about her father’s comments. “It’s literally something we’ve said in passing,” she explained. “Like, maybe I said, ‘Next year would be cool.’”

However, the wedding plans were short-lived. Channing and Zoë reportedly broke up “last weekend,” ending their three-year relationship after just one year of engagement. “They haven’t been on the same page and grew apart,” a source told People. Another insider suggested that the pressure of wedding planning strained their relationship. “Wedding plans were looming, but neither of them were rushing to the altar,” a source close to Tatum told Us Weekly. “Zoë is a very independent person. After her divorce, she expressed that she didn’t necessarily need to get married again,” they explained.

The insider also claimed that their romance “fizzled” after Zoë’s press tour for her directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” in which Channing stars. “She and Channing are opposites, but they always bonded over their love for art and film, and that is what held them together. They realized long-term that it wasn’t going to work out,” the insider said, adding that Channing is a “family man” and “very involved with his daughter,” while Zoë’s priority is “her career.” “They were looking at the long-term bigger picture and realized they may not be a good match,” the source said. “There is still a lot of love between them, and [the split] was amicable.”

This would have been the second wedding for both Channing and Zoë. Tatum was previously married to Jenna Dewan, with whom he shares an 11-year-old daughter, Everly. Their divorce was finalized last month. Zoë was married to actor Karl Glusman in 2019 but filed for divorce 18 months later. Neither Channing nor Zoë has commented on the split, but the “Big Little Lies” actress has reportedly removed her engagement ring.
