Blink twice and you might miss it. Channing Tatum shared a Polaroid-style photo on Instagram on Wednesday, featuring himself seated in front of the logo for the children's retail store Toys 'R' Us. The 44-year-old actor hinted that the photo was taken during a shoot for his upcoming film 'Roofman.'
"Just broke out of prison and into a Toys R Us... how was your day. Hehe #ROOFMAN dirty and tired but still a Toys R Us kid," Tatum captioned the post. The drama, co-starring Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage, is based on the true story of a former Army Ranger and struggling father (Tatum) who robs McDonald's restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname 'Roofman.' After escaping from prison, he starts a new life, hiding in a toy store where he falls in love with a single mother (Dunst) and her two daughters. However, his past and a new robbery threaten to ruin his second chance.
This post marks the first time the 'Magic Mike' star has commented on social media since reports emerged that Tatum and Zoe Kravitz have split after three years together. The couple ended their engagement just over a year after getting engaged, according to multiple sources who spoke to People on Tuesday. A source explained, "They haven't been on the same page and grew apart."
Tatum and the 35-year-old actress began dating while working on Kravitz's directorial debut, 'Blink Twice.' "Art is our love language," Kravitz told People at the film's August premiere. "I think it's what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other." Tatum also expressed his admiration for their creative partnership, saying, "This is what I'll say about creating with someone that you are with or love: I suggest it." He added, "When you can look across the room or the set and know that you have the best person that is next to you trying to solve problems, and you're really looking to them for answers just as equally as trying to solve them yourself, that is unbelievable."
Despite their reported split, Tatum and Kravitz will reunite on-screen. Deadline reported on Tuesday that they have joined the cast of the alien invasion comedy 'Alpha Gang,' starring and produced by Cate Blanchett. Meanwhile, Kravitz was seen without her engagement ring on Wednesday, looking somber as she stepped out in New York City just hours after the news of their breakup.
