In the video, the unidentified assailant, dressed in a black hoodie, black pants, gloves, and carrying a gray backpack, can be seen methodically firing what appears to be a single-action handgun at the CEO, pulling back the slide with each shot.
Thompson stumbles back upon the first shot, which seems to hit him in the back, before collapsing onto the sidewalk and attempting to crawl away as the gunman continues to fire. A police source informed The Post that it appeared the shooter's weapon jammed at some point during the attack, forcing him to adjust the gun to fix the jam and continue firing. This suggests that the attacker has some level of familiarity with firearms.
