Chris Hemsworth, known for his roles as warlord Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the God of Thunder in the MCU, Optimus Prime in Josh Cooley's Transformers One, and Kevin in 2016's Ghostbusters, is reportedly in talks to play Prince Charming in a live-action Disney movie. According to Deadline, Hemsworth is set to lead the film, which is being directed by Paul King, known for his work on Paddington and Wonka.

The project, confirmed to be in development last week, will see King collaborate with his regular writing partners Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker to reimagine one of cinema and literature's most iconic yet two-dimensional characters. While plot details remain under wraps, Disney has indicated that the film will not specifically tie Prince Charming to Cinderella, the fairytale he is most associated with.

This role could be a significant step for Hemsworth, who has been busy with various projects, including a Transformers x G.I. Joe crossover, sci-fi thriller The Corsair Code, Prime Video's Crime 101, and a third installment of Extraction. For King, this film will add to his list of iconic characters he has revitalized, following his successful adaptations of Paddington and Willy Wonka.
