Several firms have established spot interviews at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) tent in Al Awir to bolster the UAE's ongoing amnesty program. These firms are providing thousands of job openings to expatriates who have overstayed their visas, giving them a fresh start to rebuild their lives in the UAE by regularizing their status.
Transguard Group, a prominent manpower provider in the UAE, has spearheaded this initiative. Rabie Atieh, CEO of Transguard Group, stated, "We are among the initial companies to join this national mission. We are dedicated to recruiting as many semi-skilled workers as possible across various sectors during the next two months of the amnesty period." Atieh emphasized the company's readiness to hire thousands of semi-skilled workers, catering to industries ranging from construction to cleaning.
Atieh also underscored the significance of providing these opportunities to individuals who have encountered difficulties while residing in the UAE. "We will be delighted if we can assist people who were staying in our country to continue their stay here. The UAE is a second home to the whole world," said the Emirati national. Transguard Group has already made a substantial impact by hiring the first person at the GDRFA tent and plans to continue this effort for the next two months.
Sobha Developers, a leading real estate developer in the UAE, is another key participant in the amnesty program. Zameer Fareed, head of talent acquisition for Sobha Developers, emphasized the company's need for a large workforce to fulfill the demands of their ongoing projects. Fareed praised the UAE government’s initiative, noting its benefits for both authorities and employers by providing employees with clean records.
Sobha Developers has streamlined their hiring process, ensuring that qualified candidates receive a letter of intent during the interview. Within five working days, their visas will be processed, and they can start working the following week. The company will also provide food, accommodation, and other necessary support to the new hires.
Hotpack, a manufacturer of packaging materials in the UAE, has also joined the initiative, offering a variety of job opportunities across its factories. Mujeeb Rahman, deputy general manager of operations at Hotpack, stated that the company is looking for both skilled and unskilled workers to fill various positions. Hotpack has implemented a rigorous screening process for applicants, ensuring they have received an outpass and have relevant experience.
