Construction has commenced on the North Runway at Zayed International Airport, as declared by the authorities today. This rehabilitation initiative is a component of the Building Better Airports initiative, as stated in a recent post on X. The project will be overseen by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) until it reaches the stage of final approval and operational readiness. The objective of this project is to address the escalating demands of air traffic, increase capacity, and boost operational efficiency, according to the authority.

In an effort to improve customer convenience, the airport recently introduced reduced parking fees during the summer for travelers planning to leave their vehicles for several days. The parking facility is conveniently located just a two-minute walk from the departure gates. Reservations for these slots, available until August 31, must be made online in advance, the airport advises. Additionally, the airport provides a storage service for transit passengers. This service is designed for those on long-haul flights stopping over in the UAE who wish to tour the country without the burden of their luggage.
