Courteney Cox, known for her role as Monica Geller in the beloved series 'Friends,' recently paid homage to her former co-star Matthew Perry on the anniversary of his untimely passing. Cox, now 60, shared two nostalgic images on her Instagram account on October 29th. The first snapshot captures the duo beaming for the cameras, while the second is a classic 'Friends' cast photo featuring Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc.

"Missing you today and always ❤️ @matthewperryfoundation," Cox wrote in her heartfelt caption. Aniston, 55, also took to Instagram to share her own throwback photos with Perry, simply captioning her post, "1 year," accompanied by a broken heart and dove emoji, and tagging the Matthew Perry Foundation.

The Matthew Perry Foundation, established by Perry's family, aims to assist individuals battling addiction, a struggle Perry faced during the peak of 'Friends' fame. His step-sister, Caitlin Morrison, 43, shared in an interview with 'Hello! Canada' on October 24th, "The work I'm doing now feels very personal because it's like I'm working alongside Matthew every day on something that mattered deeply to him."

Perry's stepfather, Keith Morrison, emphasized on the 'Today' show, "What he showed the world is that no amount of wealth can heal an addict. It requires something more, and that's what we're striving to achieve." Suzanne Perry, the late actor's mother, added, "I'm a fortunate woman, but there was one issue I couldn't overcome. I couldn't save him." She further advised, "You must stop blaming yourself, as it only causes more pain."

Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Perry's on-screen mother, Nora Bing, in 'Friends,' spoke to The Post about his legacy. "I've been reflecting on it a lot," Fairchild said. "Matthew was an exceptional young man. The Matthew I knew was always full of joy and had this energetic, almost frantic, vibe that instantly lifted everyone around him." She fondly remembered his impeccable comic timing and his creative approach to his roles, never resorting to clichés despite his immense success.

Perry's life was tragically cut short on October 28, 2023, due to a ketamine overdose, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County coroner's autopsy. He was laid to rest on November 3rd at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles during a private ceremony. In a subsequent criminal investigation, five individuals were charged in connection with Perry's death, accused of exploiting his addiction to illegally supply him with ketamine.

Dr. Mark Chavez admitted to conspiring to distribute the ketamine that led to Perry's fatal overdose. Jasveen Sangha, dubbed the 'Ketamine Queen,' and Dr. Salvador Plasencia are among those accused of providing the drug to Perry in the months preceding his death. When asked about the ongoing investigation, Suzanne Perry expressed, "I'm delighted." Keith Morrison added, "I hope, and I believe the agencies involved hope, that those who profit from supplying lethal drugs to vulnerable individuals are now aware of the consequences."
