Actor Daisy Ridley expresses a mix of excitement and nervousness while returning to the 'Star Wars' franchise to reprise her role as Jedi hero Rey for a new film. Walt Disney Co, the parent company of Star Wars producer Lucasfilm, announced new plans for the franchise last year, including a focus on rebuilding the New Jedi Order in Ridley's upcoming film.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ridley mentioned not having read the script for the upcoming 'Star Wars' film but expressed eagerness as the script's arrival approached. Additionally, Ridley took on the role of American swimmer Gertrude 'Trudy' Ederle in 'Young Woman and the Sea', depicting the athlete's groundbreaking achievement of becoming the first woman to swim the English Channel in 1926.

Ridley reflected on her experience portraying Ederle, emphasizing the character's determination, resilience, and joy for her pursuits. She also shared insights into the demanding swimming training regimen she underwent for the role.
