A senior executive at Damac Properties has dismissed rumors that the company is launching an airline. Amira Sajwani, Managing Director of Damac, addressed this during an event held to unveil the new master development, Damac Island, on Tuesday evening.

“I want to clarify that we are not starting an airline,” she stated. “All the destinations you need will be accessible within Damac Islands. That is the only airline we need, and all the destinations are just 20 minutes away.”

Previously, Damac Properties, Dubai’s largest private developer, hinted at a new venture through videos and posts on its official social media channels, announcing the launch of a new company branded as Damac Air. The company also introduced a new website for this purported business. However, Amira has now clarified that these were merely marketing tactics to promote Damac Islands, which will feature a substantial number of waterfront villas.

During a press conference, Amira disclosed that a significant number of properties on Damac Islands, including townhouses and villas priced between Dh2.5 million and Dh100 million, were already sold out before the official launch.
