Winger Darcy Graham matched the record for the most tries scored by a Scotland player as they secured a dominant 59-21 victory over Portugal at Murrayfield on Saturday. Graham's try, which came in the first half, was his 29th in 41 international appearances, equaling Duhan van der Merwe's record. The Scottish team ran in a total of nine tries, with additional contributions from Arron Reed (two), Will Hurd, captain Stafford McDowell, Josh Bayliss, Jamie Bhatti, Jamie Dobie, and a penalty try. Fly-half Adam Hastings successfully converted five tries, while Tom Jordan converted one.
Portugal, who at times appeared disorganized and struggled with loose passes, managed to score three tries despite being outmatched by their formidable opponents. Their first try came from a lineout maul at the end of the first half, with hooker Luka Begic powering over. Scrum-half Samuel Marques, 36, scored a try in the 55th minute after Portugal's replacement front row pushed Scotland's scrum back. Wing Raffaele Storti added another try in the 67th minute.
The win marks Scotland's second victory in three matches during their four-match November international schedule at Murrayfield, following a win against Fiji and a loss to South Africa last weekend. Next weekend, the Scots will host Australia.
