David Warham and Richard Green emerged victorious in the November edition of the Jumeirah Pairs, hosted by The Brain & Performance Centre, Dubai, a DP World Company. Their combined efforts led to a three-shot victory with an impressive net score of 11-under 61 in the Pairs Texas Scramble event held on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

A total of 104 members competed in the event, which took place just weeks after the DP World Tour Championship. Paul McMahon and Tom Neale secured second place with a bogey-free round, finishing at nine under par, gross 63, net 64. Third place was a closely contested affair, with Nick Hymas and Abhijit Mehta winning a five-way countback after finishing at seven under par, net 65, thanks to a strong finish that included a net eagle and four net birdies in their final seven holes.

“We had a fantastic day on the Earth course,” Warham remarked. “Richard and I played some excellent golf and didn’t expect to win by such a margin. We also enjoyed the Q&A session with Ant Middleton, which was a great way to end the day. We’re already looking forward to next month’s Jumeirah Pairs by The Brain and Performance Centre.”

This was the second monthly Jumeirah Pairs event, which included a LIVE ‘Question and Answer session’ with television personality, ex-Special Forces soldier, and social media influencer Ant Middleton.

The Texas Scramble format required both players to tee off, with the best shot selected and played as it lay. The non-selected ball was placed within one club length of the selected ball. Both players then played their own ball, and the best shot was chosen, continuing until the ball was holed out. Each player in the two-player team had to contribute at least six tee shots to the scorecard, with a Handicap Allowance of 35% for the lower handicapper and 15% for the higher handicap in the pair.

Warham and Green’s brilliant round included nine gross birdies, a net eagle on hole 18, two net birdies, and a solitary gross birdie on the par four - hole 16, with no handicap shots to assist them.
